Description :
Employment Discrimination laws seek to prevent discrimination based on race, sex, religion, national origin, physical disability, and age by employers. A growing body of law also seeks to prevent employment discrimination based on sexual orientation. In Barbados where our discrimination legislation is only at draft stage, it is essential that employers are aware of the implications surrounding the topic discrimination. Not only can workplace discrimination affect employee productivity, it can divert resources from the organisation’s real business.
This course will assist participants in recognising behaviour that could be construed as discriminatory and inform on how organizations can streamline and regulate their policies and procedures to support the effort. During this workshop, specific emphasis will be placed on steps to prevent discrimination and retaliation as well as, policy against discrimination. Interactive presentations, case studies and topic specific resources will be utilized to ensure that participants meet the learning objectives.
