***This is a full-day session***

The training programme will equip participants with the skills needed to undertake health and safety audits. Employees bring to the table their familiarity with your workplace culture and an existing knowledge and appreciation of strategies and safety procedures. Thus, the participants will be trained in the standards that are expected internationally and will gain a comprehensive understanding of the crucial skills involved.

The ability to garner such skills in-house is beneficial in many ways. Audits also have the ability to uncover the causes of accidents, incidents or near misses. A major aspect of the "Check" component of the 'Plan, Do, Check and Act Model' to safety and health management is the ability to measure your performance. This ensures implementation as ‘Paperwork’ on its own is not a satisfactory measure of performance.

Additionally, there is the importance of an assessment of how well the risks are being controlled and if you are achieving your aims.

Participants Will:

• Understand the principles of safety auditing

• Learn from the experiences of two award winning companies in Barbados.

• Understand how to review currency of safety documentation.

• Be able to conduct internal safety audits
