Discrimination in Employment

Employment Discrimination laws seek to prevent discrimination based on race, sex, religion, national origin, physical disability, and age by employers. A growing body of law also seeks to prevent employment discrimination based on sexual orientation. In Barbados where our discrimination legislation is only at draft stage, it’s essential that employers are aware of the implications surrounding the topic discrimination.

Not only can workplace discrimination affect employee productivity, it can divert resources from the organization's real business. This course will help employees to recognize behavior that could be construed as discriminatory and encourages them to speak up and report potential violations. During this workshop specific emphasis will be placed on Commitment to prevent discrimination and retaliation; and policy against discrimination. Interactive presentations, case studies and topic specific resources will be utilized to ensure that participants meet the learning objectives.
