Occupational Health & Safety

The BEC provides services in the area of Occupational Health and Safety to support employers and ensure effective management of health and safety, and facilitate compliance with current and pending legislative requirements.

We work in partnership with organizations to enable them to be proactive and operate more efficiently.

Since the introduction of the Safety & Health at Work Act (2005) Cap. 356 on January 1, 2013, the BEC has performed a number of Risk Assessments and Compliance Inspections. We have also provided training solutions for members and clients and in the coming year we expect to launch new publications and update others which have been in circulation for some time including;

  • Dealing with HIV/AIDS in the Workplace
  • Safety & Health at Work Brochure
  • A Code of Practice for a Drug Free Workplace

Our publications will be circulated to our members and clients.

Download the complete 2014 training schedule below which includes training on Accident Investigation and Joint Health & Safety Committees. Additionally, we also provide tailored training solutions to meet identified needs as well as other practical solutions such as:

  • Facilitation of Safety and Health training seminars
  • Risk Assessments and Workplace Inspections
  • Accident and Incident Investigations
  • Ergonomic Assessments
  • Safety Committee Support

Safety & Health is an investment rather than an expense.  Evidence from across the globe has shown direct correlations between improvement in Safety & Health and improvement in Productivity.   Health and Safety should be managed like any other important area of business, and we look forward to assisting you in that regard.
